Letter verification
Every Letter of Verification we issue carries a fingerprint: the letter number and the SHA-256 of the work log behind it. Both are recorded in Title Auth's append-only register at the moment of issuance — before the letter reaches the closing file. A letter that is not in the register was not issued by Title Auth.
Try it with the sample letter's number: TA-26-SAMPLE.
What verification means — and doesn't. A register match confirms the letter is authentic and unaltered since issuance. It does not extend reliance: each letter is prepared for the exclusive use of the addressee agency, and no other person or entity may rely on it. Letters marked SAMPLE carry illustrative identifiers and are not register entries.
